About

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Health and Social Care at the University of Lincoln, UK. My research interests fall within and across the areas of gender, sexuality, intimacy, contemporary social and cultural theory, and sociology of health and social care with a particular interest in transgender issues, embodiment, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. My work is specifically concerned with gendered, sexual, intimate and embodied identity transformations and their interconnection with the medicolegal system. My research also focuses on how emerging Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans(gender), Intersex, and Queer (LGBTIQ) identity positions are subjectively and collectively understood and lived out in the ‘everyday.’
